It’s easy to understand the strong emotions surrounding Cyle Larin.
After bursting onto the scene as a rookie in 2015, almost everything Larin has touched has been fire. When healthy, his finishing ability has been one of the strongest in the league, and oftentimes is the single reason Orlando City finds itself competing late in games.
Naturally, Orlando fans have a special fondness for Larin. That is, until now…
Recent events have many Ruckus and Iron Lion Firm supporters doing a complete 180. After video emerged on Twitter showing Larin training with Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas, Orlando fans have taken to social media to share their disapproval.
Looking forward to watching ESPN's 30 for 30 "The Rise & Fall of @CyleLarin" in a couple years!

@CyleLarin disappointing, classless. At least acknowledge the fans that bought your jersey and cheered for you.

The guys on @TheRoarPod were spot on when they said that Cyle Larin should have to walk out with Orlando City this season to have the fans let his ass have it. He is a blatant moron who should have to suffer the consequences.

Now it’s no secret that Larin is destined for the competitive world of European soccer, sooner or later. He has openly expressed that his long-term aspirations lie in Europe. But skipping pre-season training with the club you’re under contract with to practice with another team, is the soccer equivalent of kissing a stranger before breaking up with your girlfriend.
It’s a quick way to fall out of favor with a fan base that has showed nothing but love over the past few years.
