The MLS may be young, but it appears one club and its supporters have cemented themselves as America’s version of West Ham’s Green Street Elite from the infamous movie, Green Street Hooligans.
Sunday’s alleged post-match antics from a few NYCFC fans following the Orlando City SC game are the latest in a string of headline-making fights the club’s supporters have been involved in during recent years.
It’s important to note that NYCFC consistently has a strong showing of well-behaved fans each match, but this combative minority is quickly hurting the reputation for the masses.
Here’s just a sampling of the NYCFC supporters’ offenses in the past two years:
